Tiia Torchia Lager

Costume Studio Manager


Tiia Torchia Lager is currently in her fifth year as the Costume Studio Manager at Carnegie Mellon University.  She moved to Pittsburgh after spending 17 years in New York City.


In New York, she was the Assistant Costume Shop Manager for Manhattan Theatre Club, the Costume Shop Manager at Playwrights Horizons, and lastly the Costume Shop Manager at the Public Theatre/New York Shakespeare Festival.  During that time, she was honored to work with such designers as William Ivey Long, Susan Hilferty, Carrie Robbins, Paul Tazewell, Jane Greenwood, David Zinn, and countless others.  She costume managed the Off-Broadway runs of many plays that are now produced around the world.  During her summers, she spent many years at Music Theatre of Wichita in various positions including Costume Shop Manager and Costume Designer for such shows as Beauty and the Beast, Xanadu, and My Son Pinocchio.
