Cassiel Eatock-Winnik

Actor/Dancer/Singer
Class of 2022
(she/her)

Bio:

Cassiel was born in New York City and raised in Johannesburg South Africa by a loving grandmother, a Choreographer mother and a Capoeirista father. Strength, resilience and a deep connection with people are qualities she has nurtured within herself. Growing up in South Africa she balanced an acting, dance, commercial, and modeling career for campaigns  like Reebok, Legit Jeans, Kmart and other local/international brands.

With her serious study of ballet Cassiel was invited to study at The American Ballet Theater in New York City. Her innate creative interdisciplinary approach resulted in her collaborating with local New York creatives. She collaborated on a short dance film Shapeshifting directed by Crystal Moselle that received a lot of popularity and press on the platform Nowness. Her High School years afforded professional acting opportunities as she was cast in Ralph Ziman’s Kite the live action anime film and Stephen King’s Dark Tower

In her time at Carnegie Mellon University, Cassiel has had the opportunity to engage with characters that have allowed her to hone in on her strong ability to tap into the body’s cues to bring a specified strong physical life to every character she engages with. Whether it be the Female Visionary Joan of Arc, The Headstrong Ingénue Juliet, the Healing Leader Mother Teresa, or the Witty Mary Magdalene in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Firmness of purpose, a deep well of curiosity, love, gratitude and compassion are forces that guide and inform Cassiel’s choices. Cassiel hopes to heal, entertain, and enliven, seeking to observe the light in the darkest of times with a wink in the direction of humor.
