Henry Thrasher

Class of 2022
(he/him)

Bio:

Growing up in New York City, Henry was surrounded by a dense environment of art, music, and culture. At only 4 years old, Henry saw his first Broadway show: The Phantom of the Opera, and was blown away by the telling of a story live on a stage with music and special effects. That single experience led to his countless action figure productions of not just Phantom, but any other show he was lucky enough to see, all performed on a coffee table stage and with an audience of three: his Mom, Dad, and dog! Henry’s passion for theatre continued on into high school at LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts where he deepened his craft by acting on a real stage in front of an actual audience. After the recent pause to live theatre, Henry is once again thrilled to return to the stage as Pierre in CMU’s production of Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 and having recently returned from London where he was studying Classical Acting at London’s Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he is looking forward to diving into classical texts and heightened language pieces in addition to contemporary material.

Outside of performing, Henry loved spending his summers down South with his grandparents, catching crawdaddies while wading barefoot in the creek, and climbing trees. Currently, he loves delving into his other random passions: photographing lighthouses (including every lighthouse in Connecticut and on the Hudson River), haunted houses, amusement rides, and Disney Parks, just to name a few. Check out his YouTube channel, “Haunts and Amusements”, devoted to cataloging and promoting amusement attractions featuring haunted houses, and, of course, Disney!

Henry loves exploring all types of characters, close to self and far and away, and hopes to have opportunities whether on stage or in film to keep playing make believe for many years to come!
