Kristin Ward

Arts Assistant – Prop Shop

Kristin Ward holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Nazareth College of Rochester, NY. Since moving to Pittsburgh, her multifaceted skill sets flowed naturally into a career in props, first at Pittsburgh Playhouse and then here at CMU, where she has worked alongside the props master in many capacities for over 16 years. Kristin officially joined the ranks of Full Time Staff in 2017.

Kristin relishes working in theater in an educational setting, helping students explore the creation of everything from topiaries to taxidermy. When not behind the scenes at CMU, Kristin writes, produces and performs in her own original works which aim to make folklore accessible and relevant to modern audiences. She has performed around and beyond the Pittsburgh area in venues such as Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and festivals such as Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C. Her project, Many Voices, One Story, an exploration of world versions of the Cinderella Tale, won a 2017 Project Stream Grant through PA Council on the Arts.
