Program Coordinator – Drama PreCollege
Val started working for the School of Drama in 2011 and is happy to return to her theater roots after getting to stay home for several years to raise her family. She has her B.A. in Acting from Indiana University, Bloomington and her M.F.A. from West Virginia University. Since moving to Pittsburgh eighteen years ago, she has mostly used her theater training to teach camp songs to Scouts, direct school talent shows and volunteer in support of the high school plays and marching band.
In addition to working in the box office and front of house for the Drama department’s many productions during the school year, Val spends her summers doing administrative work for the 150 high school students that come to CMU for the Pre-College Drama program.
Outside of work Val lives in Monroeville with her husband Robert and her children Jess and Luke. She is in a bowling league, plays golf, likes road trips and is a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
