Class of 2022
(she/her)

Bio:

Elle Norman is a freelance casting assistant, dramaturg, and screenwriter from Houston, Texas. Heavily influenced by her love of television, she has immersed herself in all aspects of the entertainment industry from a young age. She believes television has the potential to influence the cultural zeitgeist and reach international audiences, and Norman has her sights set on entering the room where it happens.

She has written and produced her own original plays, musicals, and screenplays; her work contains themes of queerness, gender, and mental health. She values authenticity and empathy in every collaboration she enters. Through producing her own productions, Norman came to believe strongly in the power of casting to create safe work environments and promote representation of minority groups. As a neurodivergent, queer woman, she understands how important and uplifting it is to see yourself represented in media. Norman hopes to bring that knowledge to the field of casting and development.

Elle Norman has worked as a freelance casting assistant for Nancy Mosser Casting for a little over a year. She has worked on everything from commercials to indie films to blockbusters. A recent project, Cha Cha Real Smooth, was granted admission to Sundance Film Festival, and Norman hopes to advance her career and continue to advocate for minority groups through casting.
