Jin Oh

Video & Media Designer
Class of 2024
(she/her)

Bio:

Jin is a graduating senior studying Video, Media, and Lighting design at Carnegie Mellon University. She was born and raised in South Korea with her dream to design for performing arts after the first time she watched a musical at the age of 7. She came to the US when she was 15 to further pursue her passion. Ever since then, Jin has expanded her skills by contributing to various shows in both Korea and America. She particularly loves to work for shows that entail music, such as concerts, musicals, dances and more.

Jin enjoys merging the infiniteness of artistic expressions and the definiteness of numerical formulas and using their synergy to create scenes that enrich live performances. Recently at CMU, she designed media for the modern adapted production of A Doll’s House, where she used projection mapping to different parts of the set with the content created via live camera, pre-recorded footage, and digital coding.

In her spare time, Jin likes to patch audio-reactive visuals or make lyric & lighting previs videos for her favorite songs. She is looking forward to relocating to new cities for more on-site work opportunities after graduation.
