Kyra Klonoski

Actor/Singer/Dancer
Class of 2024
(she/her)

Bio:

Kyra Klonoski is from Phoenix, Arizona, where yes, it is hot. And yes, it is a dry heat. She sang before she talked and was creating plays and choreographing dance routines by age four. Growing up with an English buff/writer for a mother and an ex-athlete for a father, what would any middle child logically do? The answer was clear to her – become an actor.

As a proud ADHD-riddled dyslexic student at an all-girls Catholic high school, school was never her strong suit. Yet the gates of heaven opened for her during high school sophomore year when a guidance counselor mentioned the magical letters “BFA” solidifying the hope that she would indeed dedicate her life to performance, and still go to college. Countless auditions, mental breakdowns, dislocated knees, and one global pandemic later, she arrived at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.

She’s played a myriad of roles, from Josephine, a Boomer whose tragic fate leads her to become a zombie in Put Your House in Order, to Petra, a sassy 21-year-old in Stephen Sondheim’s iconic A Little Night Music. Other than performing, you can catch her watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, attempting to roller skate, or cooking vodka penne for the third time this week. As she approaches graduation, she looks forward to telling as many stories as a performer as she can while bringing laughter and tears to audiences. She is in constant awe of her family, friends, and mentors’ unwavering support and will never, ever be able to thank them enough.
