Bio:

Born and raised in Baltimore, Owen gained an early affinity for the performing arts starting in middle school, community theater, and circus arts.

Owen attended the Park School of Baltimore where he participated heavily in theater as a technician as well as participating in many other clubs including varsity baseball, soccer, FIRST Robotics, Circus Club, and outdoors club. He also volunteered at The Audrey Herman Spotlighters theater and The Baltimore Streetcar Museum as a carpenter and painter.

He moved to Pittsburgh in the fall of 2019 to pursue a Bachelor of Fine arts in Theatrical Technical Direction from the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. In this program he receives practical, hands-on experience in the process of budgeting, technical designing, fabricating, and implementing theatrical scenic elements.

Owen is interested in a career in creative fabrication, technical design, and/or project management in the entertainment or other industries.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Owen had the opportunity to attend Paramedic school at night at the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania. He served with the Baltimore City Fire Department EMS division during the initial surge COVID-19 serves and currently serves as a part-time paramedic at Medical Rescue Team South Authority in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

In his free time, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, playing guitar, “ham” radio, and juggling as well as volunteering with multiple wilderness search and rescue teams.
