Bio:

Sasha Finley is a lighting designer originally hailing from Chicago. She holds a BA in Theatre and English from Smith College in Northampton, MA, where she won the Peggy Clark Kelley Award for excellence in lighting design. Currently, she is a third-year MFA candidate in lighting design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. She recently completed her final graduate school production at CMU, a fantastical music jaunt through As You Like It by William Shakespeare. Other CMU credits include The Great Comet of 1812 (Assistant Lighting Designer), La Finta Giardiniera (Lighting Designer), and In My Dreams (Lighting Designer). She is particularly interested in opera lighting design and spent the summer of 2022 as a lighting supervisor at Santa Fe Opera. She is working on her graduate thesis, a theoretical production of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, set in rural Russia during the Russia/Ukraine conflict. After graduation, she plans to move to New York City, to pursue freelance work. Outside of work, she enjoys knitting, cross-stitching, coffee, and spending time with her three cats.
