Video and Media Designer
Class of 2021
(He/Him/His)
My Bio:
SEAN BYRUM LEO (He/Him/His) is a media designer and creative producer for live performance. He creates work that is deeply rooted in storytelling, and investigates the use of media and technology as a performative tool. His work as a designer and video engineer has been seen off-broadway, and in several New York Time’s Critics pick shows. Currently he is building creative tools and workflows for real-time digital performance.
In addition to his practice as a designer, Sean has worked in New York City’s cultural sector for several years. He has produced festivals of exciting genre-defying performances; welcomed audiences and managed venues all over New York CIty; and supported artists in the creation of new projects, such as helping fill a hotel with bespoke murals in every room.
A born and raised New Yorker, he holds a BA from Bard College’s Theater and Performance Program. Sean is currently pursuing his MFA in Video & Media Design at Carnegie Mellon University, and is a Faculty Artist at Sarah Lawrence College for the 2020 – 2021 semesters.
