Sidney Rubinowicz

Stage & Production Manager
Class of 2023
(she/her)

Bio:

Sidney Rubinowicz is a first-generation American of Argentinian descent who has loved the theatre from a young age.  As a very shy child, performing helped her break out of her shell and find confidence.  She attended both a middle and high school of the arts in South Florida where she discovered her passion for technical theatre: first in costume and scenic design, and then in stage management.  Sidney is currently an undergraduate senior at Carnegie Mellon University, earning her BFA in Stage and Production Management.  At CMU, Sidney was this year’s Festival Manager for Playground XX, an annual independent festival for new student work.  She has been an active participant in this festival since her first year as she loves to get involved in works written and produced by fellow students.

Sidney has worked professionally on theatre, opera, and dance productions at Opera Saratoga, Interlakes Summer Theatre, Palm Beach Opera, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and more.  She also has experience in production for film and television, including assisting on Dear… on AppleTV+ and managing several independent films.  She is honored to have been selected as an Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar, a distinction awarded to a high achieving student in each college.  She has also been on the Dean’s List each semester.  Upon graduation, she will pursue a career in stage management and hopes to be a part of new work development.  Sidney has cultivated her own leadership style, with an emphasis on fostering relationships and establishing trust within a team.  She attributes much of her knowledge and experience to the generosity of her mentors and is always looking for opportunities to pay it forward to others.
