Two new faculty members were appointed to the School of Drama Acting and Music Theater faculty this spring. They will begin teaching in the fall of 2016.

Gary Logan comes to us from his position as Director of the Washington Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting, (in association with George Washington University). He holds an MFA from American Conservatory Theatre.

Logan has worked as an actor in many productions; as a voice, text and dialect coach for over 140 productions; as a director on some 40 plays; and is the author of “The Eloquent Shakespeare; a Pronouncing Dictionary for the Complete Dramatic Works.” He is also the recipient of the Tyrone Guthrie Award.

Logan has an extensive professional portfolio of engagements that includes, among many others, working for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Kennedy Center, Wooly Mammoth, Ford’s Theatre and The Stratford Festival.

Kyle Haden comes to us from Roosevelt University Chicago College of Performing Arts where he was an Assistant Professor of Acting. Haden is the coordinator of the Summer Seminar Program at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He is also the Artistic Director of the Ashland New Plays Festival and a member of the OSF summer faculty.

An actor, director and teacher, Haden has performed with multiple regional theater companies including the Oregon Shakespeare Theatre Company, the Guthrie Theatre, Arizona Theater, Colorado Shakespeare Festival and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre Company.

We look forward to welcoming Logan and Haden to Pittsburgh and the Purnell Center for the arts in August.
